Pre-surgery Update

Tomorrow morning is Dan's surgery to put the screw in his C2 vertebrae, and if scheduling permits, he will get his tracheostomy as well. We will let you all know how his surgery goes tomorrow evening. His slight case of pneumonia is cleared up enough to make surgery possible. We have not seen any physical improvement in Dan just yet, but we sure appreciate all of your prayer for him and our family.

Psalm 27

1I love you, O LORD, my strength.
2The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Hey Dan!

I just wanted to say hi and let you know that many prayers have been sent from Augustana College. My sorority has a prayer circle and I put your name in last week. The girls continue to ask for updates on how your doing as they send more prayers. I am going home this weekend and hopefully I'll be able to stop and see you. Stay strong. :)

Praying for you still, Dan! You're right, it's not you, it's CHRIST working through you. You're an inspiration to all of us! I know from personal experience that a feeding tube isn't the most fun form of nutrition, but don't take my high school AP Calculus teacher's advice and try to turn it into some way to receive high amounts of alcohol at one time (no, I never tried this!)..caffeinated beverages, maybe, but I don't recommend that, either! :)

Remember Psalm 73:26-28
"My flesh and my heart my fail
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For behold those who are far fro You will persih; but as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works."

We love you and are praying fervently!

"...for He [God] himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down (relax my hold on you!) [assuredly not!]." Heb. 13:5b Amp.
Many prayers for your recovery, Dan, and God's peace today. Love A. Sue

Dear Knudsens,
This is my prayer for you as Ephesians 3: 16-20 says....that He would grant you , according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
We will continue to be praying for all of you today and look forward to hearing how the surgery goes.
Love,
Jan Stern

Psalms 108

108:1 My heart is fixed, O God; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises, even with my glory.

Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake right early.

I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the peoples; and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

For thy lovingkindness is great above the heavens; and thy truth (reacheth) unto the skies.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory above all the earth.

That thy beloved may be delivered, save with thy right hand, and answer us.

Dan, I am praying for your surgery this morning that all will be well. May Jesus hold you in the palm of His Hand. Kathy Lockwood (your cousin in Michigan) called last night to see how you were. She had announced a prayer request at her church and many are praying and asking how you are. I gave her your web site so she can get daily updates. Keep Jer 29:11 close to your heart for He truly does have a plan for your life. Love you so much Gramma

The call came last night and my mind keeps picturing scenarios of our young children playing make-believe in laughter, much laughter. Praise God those days were also rooted and grounded in truth for we are comforted and sustained by that truth at just such a time as this.

Dan, surely the saints are praying continually, lifting you before His throne of grace. Goodness knows we care about you and we trust that He is able to meet your needs for your good and for His glory.

Much love for you all,

Hi Dan! I am responding to notice of your accident posted by Sue Bennett on the Charlie Company Parent Network, where I visit almost daily to fellowship with other parents of soldiers in Iraq. She has enlisted the prayer warriors to pray on your (and your family's) behalf. My heart goes out to you and your family as you journey through this plan of God's. All the answers to all this questions may not be visible right now, but they will come. I know from what I have read so far that you are a man of God and you trust Him. I also put my full faith in God and pray that God's will be done for your physical healing. It's been a blessing to read the postings about you and your response to this situation. You are apparently deeply rooted in Christ. I believe in waiting upon the Lord. We wait with you, Dan. With love, encouragement, but most of all prayers for your speedy and complete recovery.

Praise God for the answers to prayer in giving the doctors wisdom. Our family will be praying for you as you enter surgery. We are thankful that all this is happening so that you and those around you might be drawn closer to Christ. Keep your countenance lifted high and be encouraged that you are not alone in this.

In and through Christ,

Hey Dan!
This is Esther from camp! I'm so glad you're doing better. My family is still praying for you. God taught me so much through what happened to you. I'm really glad you came down to Mexico. While I right this I still cry because I see how great are God really is! I sent a letter to your parents I hope Katie (Squirt) gave it to them. I keep praying for you and really hope you get better! Thanks again for obeying Gods voice and coming down to Mexico!
God bless!
