Quiet Day

Dan rested most of the day, having had only one therapy session today. Some specifics we would love for you to pray about:
  • that Dan would not be fearful of swallowing
  • his headache would subside
  • he would not be anxious at night and would get good sleep
I Thessalonians 5:18 No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 12:1b-2 And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish.

Happy Easter Knudsen Family! We are praying for you without ceasing and will continue to do so. My thought for the day was:
GOD IS ABLE
God is able to do
God is able to do all
God is able to do all we ask
God is able to do all we ask or think
God is able to do beyond all we ask or think!!!!! (Adapted from Ephesians 4:20) I am praying He will do beyond all we ask or think!
His ways are higher than our ways. Keep trusting and believing!
Looking forward to seeing you.
Love,
Jan Stern

Happy Easter my sweet family! My heart hurts I wish we could all be together so much, but I know in HIS perfect timing we will be. Dan, i pray for you every night as I'm falling asleep that you would get good rest and take captive any anxious thoughts. Try to replace those thoughts with praise to GOD. Love you all!

I will be praying for these specific needs. I have endured headaches since I was in 6th grade (I am not 40!), so I know what it is like to have endless headaches. And with my allergies, my throat is often raw from the drainage.... and I am a night owl.... Maybe I should come to Chicago and stay with Dan at night. A big commute from SC, but worth it to serve a brother-in-Christ!

Praying for you! Jane in South Carolina

I will be praying. May the Grace of our Lord be with you. I have never met Dan but my daughter is a Cedarville student also. I pray many times a day. I hurt for you and what you are going through.

Still praying for you Dan and for your family, along with several others here in VA and friends and family back in Mexico.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Romans 15:13

Dan, many are praying for you here in Washington. Again, today, a lady asked me how you were doing and said she prays for you often. I am up lots during the night and pray for you. Now, I will add for your headaches to go away and that you will get a good rest. Rest in His love and His peace. "and finally, brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, Wherefor take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstnd in teh evil day, and having done all, to stand." May Jesus surround you with His love and power tonight. I love you, Dan. Gramma

Dear Knudsens,
I learned of Dan's injury only last night, and my mind has been filled with little else, my tearful prayers joining those of so many others, late into the night. Having read all the posts and all the comments -- one after another after another, full of love and encouragement and the remarkably sustaining power of God's Word -- I realize only God's children have this kind of comfort! We sorrow not as those who have no hope! How can I not be driven to share this hope with our hope deprived world?
What a powerful impact Dan's story is having! Priase God! And yet, who would ever choose that their son have this kind of impact this kind of way? Bill and Debbie, my heart both aches and hopes with yours as you walk through each new day in Dan's suddenly, dramatically re-written life script.
II Corinthians 4:7-10 "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but NOT CRUSHED; perplexed, but NOT DESPAIRING; persecuted, but NOT FORSAKEN; struck down, but NOT DESTROYED; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body."
Dan, may those of us whose earthen vessels have thus far been spared the painful platform you've been given respond to the challenge of your example. May you not be overwhelmed by the responsibilty you may feel to be that example. May you simply rest in Him and let Him bring glory to Himself through you, as He so clearly already has. May you FEEL our loving Father's comforting embrace each moment of each day.
Love, and earnest prayers,
Suzanne

Happy Easter, Dan! Melissa, Ben, Mike, and I are at your house right now. We are looking at chafey pictures of you and Mike as tiny children and playing "which twin is which." It's a pretty fun game, but I think I have mastered it by now. (So has Melissa!!) It's all in the eyes. Okay, we LOVE you and we hope to see you soon!!

PS- Random news...I found out today at my grandma's house that my Aunt Laura works at RIC and was looking at your charts this morning! Weird, huh? Her name is Laura Kuykendall so maybe you will meet her soon!

Bill, Debbie, Dan & the rest of the Family,

You have been in our thoughts and prayers since we heard of Dan's injury. No, you aren't superhuman, and you must be physically and emotionally drained by now, but isn't it wonderful that we serve a risen Lord who is able to sustain us when we know we couldn't go it alone? Sending you hugs and love and prayers from our gang...we love you guys! We will keep praying. Our God is able!

He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!!!
Holy God, I praise you for your holiness. You are so mighty to save. Father, praise be to Your name for raising Christ on this day. I thank you for this foundation of hope we have to put our lives in. God, fill Dan with peace. Your peace, that satisfies all fear. Lord, work in the muscles of Dan's mouth, and Lord, may Your sweet promises of salvation be the song to help Dan sleep. Fill Dan's mind with only joyous comfort from you. I pray in faith, through Christ our Redeemer. Amen.

Dan, you once wrote in the bible you gave me a long time ago: Let the world see Christ in you through your beautiful smile. Well, right back at ya! You keep smiling Christ to all who see your face. :)
"The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall i be afraid?" Psalm 27:1

Always prayin'

Dan,

Ever since I heard of your injury through the Creative Arts Dept @ Christ Community, I have been praying for you. You don't know me but my heart and prayers are reaching to a God Who cares about EVERY aspect of our lives. I am praying this day that He would abolish your fears, placing a garrison around your heart and mind. I am also praying for your restful sleep at night. As I have found comfort in this passage, you may find solace in the same: "You will not fear the terror of night nor the arrow that flies by day. . . He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge. . ."(Ps.91)

Receive His peace--
A sister in Christ
