Monday Update

We had our 4th Monday meeting this morning. Dan's goals are pretty much the same because he was not able to do much therapy last week because of not feeling well. He continues to have a fever, and since all cultures come back negative, he will have a full body bone scan Tuesday morning to see if the pressure sore has caused an osteo infection. Please pray that there will be an accurate diagnosis and that the doctor will have wisdom on how to proceed.

Dan appreciated college friends being in this weekend. We're thankful for their sacrifice of time.

Psalm 62:1,2
My soul waits in silence for God only.
From Him is my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.

Thank you for keeping us posted on the test tomorrow.... I will be praying for a diagnosis of the fevers and not feeling well. Along with Dan's frustration level. Jane

Many people at my church are praying for you, Dan. "His grace is enough" "All of you is more than enough for all of me" are songs that often run through my head when I'm going through a spiritual valley. Get one of those stuck in your head! May your thoughts be drawn upwards to heaven where our King graciously waits to hear our requests.

My nephew, Quinten Link, is one of Debbie's students. I was touched when hearing of your accident and I have been praying for you Dan with an intimate understanding of what you're going through. I too was at RIC 15 years ago after an automobile accident rendering me a C-4,5 quadriplegic woman. The most important commonality we have is not our spinal cord injury, but our faith. "Be careful, keep calm, and don't be afraid. Do not lose heart... This is what the Sovereign LORD says, If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all'" (Isaiah 7:9). I would like to meet you. However, I am sure you are not ready for people to come visiting that you do not know.... especially a 49-year-old woman old enough to be your mom :-). If/when you are ready have a family member contact me and I'll come see you (e-mail navy4whl@ispwest.com). I live in the South suburbs. I can't sign off without giving you a few words of practical encouragement: #1 you, the Lord and people he has put around you WILL get through this difficult time together. #2 it is okay and even healthy to mourn your losses. Just don't get stuck there. While you are mourning be sure to count your blessings also. #3 days are going by and you feel there is little progress being made and you have little to no hope of things ever being "normal". Exercise patience. By the grace of God, things will get better. You do have a life to look forward to and you will be able to manage your life with help from friends and family WHEREVER God calls you. Many prayers and well wishes sent your way. Lianne Lang

Praying for you again.... I am praying for the test this morning and that Dan will be able to move past this place of sorrow. All the words in the world can't make that happen but the Holy Spirit can work in ways I could never imagine. So my repeated prayer today for Dan and all of you, is that you allow the Holy Spirit who was sent by our loving Father to bring comfort and to minister to us, to do his God appointed job.

We prayed for each of you this morning, and will continue throughout the day as you await test results. Yes, we do WAIT..and HE ALONE is able to sustain in these times.

I have been praying for a man in Michigan that had an accident in Mexico in January of this year. He too is in a wheelchair and adjusting to this chapter that God is directing.
Josh is a Christian, husband and father. His wife posted yesterday about reading Romans 8. I pray that Dan will find comfort in these passages too.
So many of us are not where we wanted to be in our lives. We had dreams and desires that were not in God's plan. I would have never scripted my life to be this way. But I am soooo happy that God is at the helm of all the storms of my life.

Praying Jane

Dan!!! My dearest Brother

I don't know how to encourage you Dan...I think the faithfulness of all the Saints has been in abundence! All I have to give you is this:
Whatever happens, you are in the Lord's hands. You Dan are his master piece. He has been waiting for this to happen all 20 years of your life, just so he could reveal himself to you! Isn't that such a promise? Whatever happens, YOU ARE IN THE LORD's HANDS. Punto.

Dan, Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord! Repeat this althoughout the day...(whenever you get this) Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and Christ JEsus our Lord. He is taking good care of you Dan, and loves you SO much. And he is using you...through your smiles and attitudes that have changed the whole rehab by now. I bet the nurses fight over who gets to care for you! haha...who knows. You always will be the ultimate chafe. (hope that made you smile! =)

Have a blessed day brother! And know that I love you

Remember when you posted a blog about what it looks like for a guy to be a leader...I think that in ways that are not even understandable, you are leading from where you are...it is just beautiful to see what God is doing in you and through you however hard that may be. We can see Jesus working in you and through you...and its amazing...so we look to the Father because of you and on behalf of you...
praying for you
