from The President of the United States

THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON

March 28, 2007

Mr. Dan Knudsen

Dear Dan:

I recently learned about your surgery and wanted to wish you a full and speedy recovery.

I hope that you are drawing on the support of your loved ones during this time. Your strength and determination are an inspiration. May God bless you

Sincerely,

George W. Bush

George W. Bush

Yep, it's for real. Thank you White House aid, CU grad and OPE* brother Matt, who arranged this for Dan. [Those OPE guys are everywhere.]

When Dan saw the former post title [from W] he said that was "a disrespectful name for our president". His dad meant no disrespect, and knows that the Bush campaigners even used "W" for their slogan. We in no way wish to be disrespectful to our president, let alone disagree with Dan in his current condition. Thanks Dan for the correction. love you, dad :D

That's a very cool letter from the President Bush. I believe that somewhere in there is an implied executive order for you to get better and maybe also a Presidential pardon for any small (or large) setbacks. You've got a whole LOT more to back you up in our Jesus and your friends and family...especially your family in Christ. We may not leave a comment very often but know that there are many like me that check your blog every day...throughout the day and sometimes, like now, very late at night. We're praying for you Dan. Your heart and mind are more important and more impressive than your arms and legs. This is true even if God grants you a full recovery...don't forget!

You were just prayed for....and continue to be on my mind.

"I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make Your faithfulness known through all generations.
I will declare that Your love stands firm FOREVER, that You established Your faithfulness in heaven itself...The heavens praise Your wonders, O Lord, Your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings?
O Lord God Almighty, who is like You? You are mighty, O Lord, and Your faithfulness surrounds You."
-from Ps 89

Dear Dan and Fam,

We continue to pray for you and look forward to your encouraging updates. Our God is a God of miracles and that is our prayer...if it's His will and plan that He would restore you 100%. Keep the faith. The Basile Family in Puebla

Dan: You don't know me but my son (Jacob Stout)is a CU senior and we have several kids at CU from our area (Traverse City, MI). One of those kids is Libby Dennis, who was ont he trip with you. She has kept us informed of your situation and progress so that we can pray. My Wednesday night small group is especially holding your name up to the LORD and will continue to do so over these next very difficult months. It is great to see your families comments and to know that you are so loved and cared for. God bless you and God bless your recovery efforts. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!! I have seen that!

Sweet! Didn't believe it at first, but then I saw the phrases "determination" and "speedy recovery" ... I can just see him saying that into a camera with a grin on his face. :-)

We should send the blog entry for sitters to President Bush...Maybe he can fly over , spend sometime with Dan and let the rest of you guys take a ride in Airforce 1 and let Dan can fill the President in on what we should do on the war...Cause Capt'n Scratch can shed a unique perspective on everything...

Dear Dan and family,

We went to language school with Missionaries Beth and Pete Gross, so keep in touch with their ministry in Puebla. My family and I are missionaries in La Paz, Mexico. We have been praying for you since we heard about your accident. Be assured that God will give you the measure of grace and strength you need to meet the challenges of each new day. I pray, too, that you will find authentic friends that you can trust with the bad days as well as the good days.

Blessings

Jen-

I first heard about Dan's accident when I was visiting CU a few weeks ago. I've been meaning to get ahold of you and let you know that I am praying for your family and Dan especially. I've also placed him on the prayer list in my S.S. Class and I give updates each week thanks to the updates on this site. God is an awesome God and He can bring glory to Himself from the worst circumstances - hope, witness, and give praise. Love ya girl. Know that I'm thinking of you.

Dan,
I wish I had the pleasure of knowing you personally. My daughter is a freshman at CU and gave me your blogspot so I could be praying for you. Even your respect for our president gives me a good idea of the kind of young man you are, besides all the great things so many have said about you.
From a new friend in western NY,
Natalie

Knudsen Family,

We are still on our knees, humbly at the foot of the cross.
I was telling my 10 year old son that he can pray for Dan any time he thinks of him, his reply was
"Mom, I think about him all the time," ...as do we all.
Thinking of you this Easter weekend !

Imagine If...
...Melissa were a world record. Which would she be? :)

We had so much fun today, Dan! (Even if the game questions were lame at times). I am praying for you! Feel better and don't get the mumps.

Hey Dan and Family,
I was able to talk to a girl at my work today who is a buddist. After our great conversation I realized how blessed we are to know God. He is so generous to give us Himself, His word, His living word. Wow... With Easter approaching, I was reflecting on the power of God and how mighty He was to raise Christ. Death is nothing to our God. He is only light. I am continually praying for all of you. I hope to spend more time up at the Hospital with Dan and all of you. Ps. 27;14 "Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart take courage, Yes, wait for the Lord".

Hallelujah! He is risen!

Love,

~Where Ever~

Whether today or tomorrow,
Or what ever may lie ahead,
Listen to this advise,
Listen to what is said:

Which ever journey you take,
Or wherever you may roam,
Always keep in mind,
There’s a place for you at home.

But know that home,
Is not just where your born,
Or where the paths,
Are the most worn.

It’s a place in your heart,
Which you cannot hide,
One where love,
Is the light of your guide.

So let your heart lead you,
Down your chosen way,
And with the light of love,
May you never go astray.

Hi Dan and Family,
Greetings from Springfield, Missouri! I'm Jeri--my son is Joe Blakey, OPE brother and teacher at Puebla Christian. When Joe called me "that day" to tell me what had happened, I immediately prayed for God's arms to wrap around your mom, because, well, I'm a mom! How encouraging to read that God has given you all supernatural strength when you clearly had none. Thank you for sharing this experience with all of us so we can hold you up before the Lord. Seminole Baptist here in Springfield continues to pray for you. Dan, I know that OPE guys can EAT--I fed about 20 of them at my house in Chicago when Joe was in school, so you must uphold that standard!
Love and prayers,
Jeri & Gene Blakey
1 Corinthians 15:58--"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Hi Dan and family,

This is Chris Fisher's mom, Heather. We got to know you through crossroads basketball. You guys were always favorite people, with your big smiles and love for the Lord. We also used to see Mike & Dan at McDonald's probably far too often...

Actually, Chris has always kept us up to date with you guys, even before all this, and we have a team photo with both Mike & Dan in it hanging on our wall! So, we've never forgotten you, and we are following your situation now with hearts full of concern and love.

Your website has been such an encouragement to me, and everyone I know who follows it. We believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are truly a family, and through your trials we are growing too.

Dan, I have struggled with anxiety for many years. It is very consuming I know. But I want you to know that it will get better. I have trouble sleeping sometimes and now I know to be praying for you then. I can't imagine your courage, but courage doesn't mean you're never afraid. I keep telling Chris that as he's about to be commissioned in the Army.

Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
