- January went by fast; yes, someone did ask me to take it down, then Jen got engaged ... and I was gone for 2 weeks on business...
- February was very cold, the wreath was mentioned again ... but I was gone for 1 week on business.. and ... oh, very busy for Valentine's Day ...
- March was Dan's accident, and I have only been home 8 times. [only 1 time with Deb]
The Christmas wreath is the last of the decorations to get put away. The robins love the warmth of the brick, the shelter of the porch overhang, and the protection from Slinky and Chip, our two cats. One year that I tried to move the nest, [yes this has happened before] the mother robin did not return. I felt bad.
So whoever is taking care of the lawn, and house... please don't touch the wreath ... just yet.
We'll keep all of you posted on the little guys' progress.
I am reminded of our God who cares for this robin and her eggs, yet our loving Savior who is far more concerned with the food, shelter, physical and mental health, and spiritual lives of the Knudsen's. Thank you once again for your caring for us in so many ways. We know that you are hurting along with us. God will see us through this new chapter in our lives.
Psalm 84:2-4 (NLT)
2 I long, yes, I faint with longingto enter the courts of the Lord.
With my whole being, body and soul,
I will shout joyfully to the living God.
3 Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young
at a place near your altar,
O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God!
4 What joy for those who can live in your house,
always singing your praises.

What a beautiful reminder God gave you through that wreath and nest. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Precious, oh so precious. ANd, you Dan, are far more important to God than the birds! Love you and continue to pray. Love Gramma
Another "stranger" praying for all of you. I am an SIL member in Tucson. May you know God's presence in a mighty way today.
Joel 6:1-3 (NLT)
“Come, let us return to the Lord.
He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds.
2 In just a short time he will restore us,so that we may live in his presence.
3 Oh, that we might know the Lord!
Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.”
Don't we have the most wonderful amazing loving God? He cares so much for us that he sends us birds to remind us. Praying...still.
In His Grace -

I have posted once before on this site. I found out about Dan "accidently" while reading another blog. Someone's blog that just happened to be at the location where Dan's accident occurred. I read "Check in with Dan" everyday and pray for him and your family everyday. I am just a person, a woman, a mother, a Christian and I cannot tell you how very much your determination and strong belief in God our Father has pushed me into another level in my relationship with Christ. I am amazed at your spirit and positive attitude. I have always tried (and sometimes failed of course) to live with a positive attitude. You , Deb are an inspiration to I am sure all around you including your precious Dan. May God lay his healing hands on Dan and each one in your family. The robin eggs were a sign from God. All good reasons for not taking down a wreath! I find the blessing of knowing that God takes care of the littlest sparrow a reassurance in times of trial. We are praying for the family.
Dan,
I wish I could come up to see you this weekend with everyone from 10/24 (and yes I do still consider myself a half member haha).. But I have some committments with the puppet team (laugh all you want)... Please know that I am continually praying for you and I am thinking about you a lot! I hope this weekend is encouraging and that you have such a great time with everyone!

This may be kind of random, but it goes with your bird story...
Every year for the past three years we have a bird (a killdeer) lay it's eggs in the middle of our gravel drive way. It is very frustrating to my mom and I, but my dad won't let us even go near it. We have to park our cars before we get to its nest, or take the car off the driveway and into the grass!!! Your story just reminded me of our incident we have every year!!! Hope you are having a good week!!
