WE ARE FINALLY HOME.
We have known for a number of weeks that we would be home on August 2nd which turned into the 3rd and then delayed again till the 6th - today.
Dan has had a week of good-byes, and "best of lucks" from the 30+ doctors, nurses, PCT's, therapists and hospital staff that have cared for him these past 4 months.
We were met at home by a care technician from his ventilator supply company. Obviously they have to make sure that there is a smooth transition from the RIC to home.

Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers.
We were met at home by a care technician from his ventilator supply company. Obviously they have to make sure that there is a smooth transition from the RIC to home.
Gone are:
- noises of other ventilators on the floor, setting off the entire floor alarm system
- crying babies [who always seems to be at our end of the floor]
- the ability to have ANY type of food delivered to your door
- endless knocks on the door by his care givers and therapists
- limited cable TV - that did not carry some CUBS games
- gorgeous views of Lake Michigan
- having to ask permission to leave the floor or building
- morning walks down Michigan Ave including the Jamba Juice stop
- home cooked food
- living in ONE place instead of 3 - HOME
- being close to family and friends
Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers.

welcome home! can't wait to come visit!
Dan, My daughter attends Cedarville and knows you and your brother. She told me about your blog because she cares a lot for you and shared your story with me (I also read about it on Dr. Brown's blog). I know that she is praying for you always! I just wanted to encourage you by letting you know that, despite all that has happened, you know that the Lord knows all of this and knows "exactly" how you are feeling and how you are doing! Don't lose sight of His presence in your life and how much he cares for you!! You are loved in a mighty way and NOTHING is greater than knowing that!! Be encouraged and know there are SOOOO many who are praying for you and thinking of you!! We serve an awesome and loving God and He will be there for you and your family when you need Him and call on him! God bless you all and keep you. I know He will do just that!! Sincerely, A dedicated prayer partner
That is definitely SWEETNESS, Scratch!!! Hey, SGA is looking forward to seeing you on Sunday afternoon. Be sure and let me know if that will be a problem.
Congratulations on being HOME! We've all prayed for this day for a long time. We are still praying for you in Portage, MI...

Word has it my old room has a new paint job - well at least our rooms match now! You're lookin' good as usual! Can't wait to see you in 5 weeks!
Praise the Lord! This has been a long road but you are home now. We rejoice with you and know it's going to be fun to see how you all adjust to this new chapter in life. We hope someone can keep us up to date on progress.
Joe Blackey visited me this afternoon and says he hopes to see you when he goes to Chicago for his brother's wedding.
Blessings...

Dear Dan and the whole Knudson clan,
I have just returned home to Mexico City after spending the summer as a short-term missionary in Peru. Michael immediately updated me on how you are doing and we rejoice together that you are at home. My prayer for you is that you continue to enjoy the Lord. He is your daily food, He is your every movement, He is the light in your eyes. After spending ten weeks among Peru´s marginalized and largely neglected indigenous peoples I realize how blessed you are to have the medical attention and the recovery care that you do, Dan! Christ is Life. Follow hard after Him.
With Love

I'll be praying for all of you during yet another time of transition. I pray that there won't be a let down once the initial excitement wears off. I pray that plenty of help and encouragement will be provided to your family and that your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs will be met in a very special way. I pray that you won't all feel overwhelmed as you learn to handle things daily more and more on your own.
Love ya, man...
YEAH!! You are home!! We are will continue to pray for you as you enter this new stage of life. May the Lord be your joy each day!!
Praise the Lord! The Loosa family is very happy for you and your family!! We will keep praying!
